After two long years the Jubilee is back!
The arts contribute so much to our local economies but over the past two years, events like the jubilee have struggled. Event organizers have done all they could to ensure that they would be around for years to come and our government has been there to support them along the way.
A Great Day in Musquodoboit Harbour
I had the chance to visit with some community members in Musquodoboit and receive an update on some projects that received federal funding.
Harbour Lites Seniors Club received $17,727 from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to replace the front entrance and the deck, improving safety and accessibility.
Affordable Housing in Antigonish!

Antigonish is Going Green!
Antigonish is truly becoming a leader in green technology!
In July I announced a federal investment of $9.5 million dollars in two projects in Antigonish county to support energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy generation.
Investing in Pictou and Antigonish Counties
It was great to have my friend and colleague, Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor in town to announce over $760,000 for 11 projects across Pictou and Antigonish Counties on behalf of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
The New and Improved Trenton Park
The New and improved Trenton Park is finally open!
After a lot of hard work and dedication from the folks with the Hemlock Group, and an investment of $2.2 million from the federal government, the upgrades to Trenton Park are now complete.
Canada Day Fun!
The weather was perfect this year for Canada Day!
I had the chance to attend the Westville Canada Day Parade with some folks from our constituency office. It was awesome to see some many people come out to enjoy the floats and displays put on by those in the parade!
Upgrades to the Little Harbour Community Centre
The Little Harbour Community Centre recently upgraded their pickleball court with $50,000 in funding from the federal government's New Horizons for Seniors Program, in addition to $65,000 that they've fundraised themselves.
Investing in Local Organizations
It was great to be back at Pictou Lodge to announce over $447,000 in federal investments to five organizations in Pictou County, Antigonish, and the Eastern Shore through the Tourism Relief Fund.
Affordable Housing in Pictou County
New Glasgow has new affordable housing units!
Our government invested $2 million to build 36 affordable housing units in Pictou County, made possible through the Rapid Housing Initiative. This Initiative will make $72 billion in support available by 2027-2028 to make more affordable housing available to low-income Canadians
Funding for the Tourism Sector
I announced a federal investment of $115,750 for Destination Eastern and Northumberland Shores to help develop a local tourism plan that will help the industry emerge from the pandemic.
This was the organization's first event in three years and it was filled with local food and entertainment.
Celebrating the History of Stellarton
History is a vital part of our communities and our government is pitching in to ensure that the town of Stellarton is able to celebrate theirs with a contribution of $11,000 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund
Upgrades to the Hillside Community Centre
After a long two years, the Hillside Community Centre is excited to be hosting events again and our government is thrilled to help them return to normal!
The federal government provided $68,250 towards construction to the building that will add a new kitchen and make the entire space more accessible.

The Plymouth Community Centre received $33,587 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to perform accessibility upgrades to the building.

Ship Hector Sets Sail on Fundraising Campaign
Big plans are in the works to restore the vessel to working order. The renewed vessel will not only be seen along the waterfront, but will have the capacity to carry up to 50 passengers for short trips locally, and it will take part in Tall Ships events in the region.
