Funding for the Tourism Sector

It was great to be in a room full of local tourism operators, there is so much excitement and enthusiasm about the potential in the industry

April 2022

I announced a federal investment of $115,750 for Destination Eastern and Northumberland Shores to help develop a local tourism plan that will help the industry emerge from the pandemic.

This was the organization's first event in three years and it was filled with local food and entertainment. Hearing from the participants highlighted the need to provide support for the tourism sector as we recover from the pandemic, which is why our government is putting in supports across the country.

Some examples include:

  • $500 million for the Tourism Relief Fund

  • $10 million for Atlantic Canada through the Rediscover Mainstreet Program

  • $20 million in support of a new Indigenous Tourism Fund

  • $500 million through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund

Iā€™m very much looking forward to the next event!
