Exciting Things are Happening in the East River Valley!

I always love hearing about a project from the people who are directly involved. Their passion and excitement about the project is always contagious!

March 2022

I had a chance to stop by the East River Valley and get an update on some of the local community centers that have received federal funding.

The Plymouth Community Centre received $33,587 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to perform accessibility upgrades to the building.

Springville Church and Community Hall received $100,000 through the Enabling Accessibility Fund to put in a new kitchen and to make accessibility upgrades to the building.

Bridgeville Community Hall received $24,500 from the New Horizons for Seniors fund as well as additional COVID-related supports to make improvements to the facility, including the installation of heat pumps, while also receiving funds which allowed them to deliver meals to seniors during the pandemic.

While these projects received federal funding, the legwork was done by dedicated and hard working volunteers. Thank you to all who played a part!
