Ship Hector Sets Sail on Fundraising Campaign

The Ship Hector has long been an important part of the local tourism sector in Pictou County and represents a strong connection to our region’s Scottish heritage.

Big plans are in the works to restore the vessel to working order. The renewed vessel will not only be seen along the waterfront, but will have the capacity to carry up to 50 passengers for short trips locally, and it will take part in Tall Ships events in the region.

I joined members of the community for the kickoff of their fundraising campaign this week and got to learn more about the restoration project. For details on the plan, visit: https://www.shiphector.ca
