The PC Seniors Festival is underway at the Trenton Rink! This annual festival is back for the first time in a few years and provides a great opportunity for people aged 50+ to get together with their neighbours for a weekend full of fun activities.

There’s a new playground in the East River Valley! East River Valley Recreation received support from the federal government to build a new natural outdoor playground that will encourage more kids to get outside to play.

Building the homes our communities need will take new approaches to home construction. I visited Eastcut Wood Building Solutions in the Town of Trenton, who is working with local communities to build efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly homes.

We’re helping make communities more accessible! Thanks to the volunteers at the MacDonald Rebekah Lodge in Sunnybrae for their efforts to ensure every member of the community can participate in events hosted at this historic community hall.

We need to embrace new solutions to solve the housing challenges Canadian communities are facing. I recently visited The Shaw Group’s property at Fossil Farms in Nova Scotia to see their modular demonstration houses and to hear how they can help build more homes for families.

After being sworn in as Canada’s Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, it was important for me to get back home to my own community to discuss how we can advance local solutions to our housing challenges.
