The Canada Child Benefit is increasing!

One of the first initiatives we undertook after forming government back in 2015 was the introduction of the Canada Child Benefit which stopped sending child care cheques to the wealthiest households, and put more money in the pockets of 9 out of 10 families.

As of today, this tax-free payment to low and middle-income families is going up by 6.3% and will now provide up to $7,437 per child under 6 or $6,275 per child 6 and over, every year!

This program has helped lift more than 435,000 children out of poverty across Canada.

While families here in our community continue to feel the impact of the rising cost of living, we will continue our work to provide supports that make life more affordable.
