There are free tax clinics available throughout Central Nova, including in Musquodoboit Harbour, Sheet Harbour, Antigonish, and New Glasgow.

Great news for Pictou County!

The Antigonish Heritage Museum is going digital!

The museum has copies of the Casket newspaper spanning from 1890 all the way to 2006 and they’ve been working to scan and upload them online for everyone to access.

We’re helping build more homes in Pictou County!

Today, I joined the Mayors of New Glasgow, Pictou, and Westville to announce federal support to get more homes built, faster.

Now this is something to smile about!

We’ve started rolling out the Canadian Dental Care Plan so that Canadians have access to the affordable and quality dental care they deserve.

As the storm clean up continues, we’re providing federal support to assist the Province of Nova Scotia’s efforts.

We will continue to assess what more can be done to extend our support and provide the necessary assistance to the Province of Nova Scotia.

As our region faces the aftermath of a record breaking snowfall, I want to say thank you to all the essential workers who braved the elements to put others first.

We are lucky to have dedicated groups of volunteers in our communities that are working to provide affordable housing solutions locally.

I want to say thank you to both groups for taking the time to meet recently and for your efforts to make sure that everyone in our community has a safe and affordable place to call home.

Public transit should be easy to use and available to everyone.

I was excited to see that earlier this month the Band Council from Pictou Landing First Nation voted to be connected to the existing Pictou County Transit network.

Pictou Landing First Nation makes our region a more vibrant and dynamic place to call home.

I joined the new Chief and Council to discuss the many opportunities to work together to advance the well-being of the community and its residents.

I recently stopped by to visit Chris Stewart and the team at I. Matheson Co. Ltd to visit their operations in New Glasgow.

I popped into the The Marmalade Cafe & Coffee Bar for lunch today in between visits with businesses in Sheet Harbour.

It’s a great place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat, so stop in if you’re in the area to give them your support!

What a great day on campus!

I was fortunate to be able to spend some time with law students at Dalhousie University.

Healthcare matters to everyone.

But lately, the healthcare system hasn’t been meeting the standard that Nova Scotians expect, and rightfully deserve.

We want to help the Province improve the quality of care it delivers to people who call Nova Scotia home.

Over the course of the last few months, students from Northumberland Regional High School have reached out to share their concerns about food security in Nova Scotia and to highlight the efforts they are making to ensure all students have access to healthy food everyday.

Canada’s national dental program is rolling out!

Every Canadian deserves to have a healthy smile, regardless of how much money you or your family take home.

This week, we launched Canada’s 9-8-8 mental health crisis hotline.

This number, which is easy to remember and available 24/7, is an important tool to help those struggling with mental health issues and thoughts of suicide.
