Working Together on Healthcare

Healthcare matters to everyone.

But lately, the healthcare system hasn’t been meeting the standard that Nova Scotians expect, and rightfully deserve.

We want to help the Province improve the quality of care it delivers to people who call Nova Scotia home.

Today, we finalized a deal that will provide the Province of Nova Scotia with a federal investment of $355 Million over the next 3 years. This deal will provide the provincial government with the financial resources it needs to deliver on our shared priorities, which aim to:

Improve access to family health services, including in rural and remote areas, and for underserved communities;

Provide timely access to quality mental health, substance use and addictions services;

Better support a talented and resilient health workforce that provides care to our communities;

Streamline access to your electronic health information that is shared between your physician and the health professionals they consult.

This investment is part of the nearly $200 billion we're committing nationwide over the next 10 years to improve healthcare delivery across the country.

We will continue to work with our provincial partners to ensure that Nova Scotians, and all Canadians, have access to the care they need, when they need it.
