This budget reflects the campaign the Prime Minister ran on, and puts Canada on a new course.
It is focused on building a stronger Canadian economy with good paying jobs. It advanced new policies that will help get major projects built, support business growth, and find customers with new trading partners around the world.
150 Years of the Supreme Court of Canada
This year marks 150 years of the Supreme Court of Canada helping to shape this country, standing in ardent defence of Canadian democracy and in defence of our freedoms.
May its work continue so that 150 years from now, Canada remains the true North, strong, and free.
Launching Build Canada Homes
The federal government is stepping up to help build more homes.
Recently, we launched Build Canada Homes, a new agency with access to federal land and $13 Billion in capital to help build more affordable housing and create good paying jobs for the people who build it.
Great Day for Viola’s Way
Viola’s Way in New Glasgow will be a terrific new gathering place for the community that honours not only Viola Desmond’s defence of racial equality but changemakers from the African Nova Scotian community more broadly who have been living in this region for more than 400 years.
Bill C-4 Passes with Unanimous Support!

Yesterday, the House of Commons unanimously supported our legislation to give Canadians a tax break.
The Bill will cut income taxes for 22 Million Canadians beginning July 1, which will save households up to $840 a year.
