Volunteers make big things happen in small communities!

Volunteers make big things happen in small communities!

I stopped by Carrolls Corner Community Center today to announce over $322,000 in federal funding for five projects which will see various improvements in small community facilities in Central Nova.

None of these projects would be possible without community members turning ideas into real progress on the ground.

The projects we are helping fund include:

$150,000 to the Carroll’s Corner Community Centre to build a modern and accessible playground.

$30,000 to the Ecum Secum Volunteer Fire Brigade to build a new park for residents.

$25,000 to the Meagher's Grant Volunteer Fire Department to replace the community hall floor.

$17,727 to Harbour Lites New Horizons Club to replace its front entrance and deck.

$100,000 to Eastern Shore’s Gallery to support a tourism destination for arts, craft and musical performances.

Thank you to Carroll’s Corner Community Centre for hosting us today, and congratulations to all the recipients.

I know these investments will have a huge impact on the residents and create a more welcoming, active community for years to come!
