New funding opportunity for community services organizations!
New funding opportunity for community services organizations!
Charities and non-profits play a critical role in every community fortunate enough to host one. They help communities by addressing needs such as housing, food security and employment, while providing stability and opportunities to children and youth in need, among many other supports.
Over the last couple of years, too many of these important centerpieces of our communities have been struggling to recover and adapt to the changing needs of communities because of decreased revenue from COVID-19.
To help ensure their success, we announced the Community Services Recovery Fund – a $400 million investment that will help community services organizations, such as charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, to rebuild and remain in our communities.
The funding will be distributed by the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada and can be used to:
Adapt how services are delivered
Buy equipment such as technology and software
Create new ways of working, such as fundraising approaches
Getting support for staff and volunteers, such as training and mental health support
Help to open other funding opportunities
I encourage every organization in need to take advantage of this funding so that our communities can continue to benefit from all of the wonderful work that you do!
