More public transit options are on the way for Pictou County!

This morning I stopped by the Town of New Glasgow to announce more than $475,000 in federal funding that will see two new buses and five new bus stops added to Pictou County Transit’s fixed-route transit system.

It will also create the potential for more communities in Pictou County to access the service in the years ahead.

This investment will allow an even greater number of Pictou County residents to find jobs in our community, attend medical appointments, take part in community events, and run their day-to-day errands, all of which make Pictou County a more inclusive and accessible place to call home.

Thank you to Premier Tim Houston, Mayor Nancy Dicks, Mayor Danny MacGillivray, and Michelle Ferris of the Aberdeen Health Foundation for joining this morning, and for working across different levels of government to help bring this project to life!
