Today is a big day for jobs in Nova Scotia!

The Prime Minister is here to announce an investment of $44 Million to help Michelin grow in Nova Scotia.

For generations, we’ve seen our young people move away from Atlantic Canada to find work elsewhere. The opportunity to help create good-paying jobs at home was one of the main reasons I ran for office. I wanted to help make sure that more young people from our region could stay and raise their kids in the communities where they grew up.

Today’s investment will create new jobs, help secure the jobs of workers that live in our communities now, and make Michelin’s operations more environmentally sustainable.

We have seen some real progress. Our local economy has more job opportunities than there are workers to fill them, and over the past few years, more young people and families are moving to our region than are leaving for the first time in a generation.
