To everyone who is advocating for more action on climate change - thank you

A group of young people from Pictou County (Pictou County Climate Strikes) recently wrote my office after taking part in a Fridays for Future event to advocate for climate action because they are concerned for their future and the health of our planet.

I also spent time speaking with a group of my constituents in Antigonish this weekend who shared the same concerns.

To everyone who is advocating for more action on climate change - thank you. You are making a difference that is helping shape national debates around environmental and climate policy.

In response to these examples of local advocacy, I am hosting a Facebook Live Town Hall on Tuesday, June 4 at 6pm AST where I will take your questions on the topic from my office in Ottawa.

Iā€™m always happy to meet in person to discuss these issues as well, and would make myself available to do so after this session of the House of Commons wraps up at the end of the month.

Thank you to everyone who wrote my office, and who took the time to let me know about what matters most to them.

The fact is, climate change is real, it is driven by human activity, and we are feeling the impact today. We have an opportunity and an obligation to do something about it.

I look forward to speaking with you, hearing your concerns, and considering your ideas during our Facebook event on Tuesday!
