Prime Minister launches Canada Service Corps

Today the Prime Minister launched the design phase of Canada Service Corps, Canada’s new national youth service initiative.

Canada Service Corps is a federal program that is being developed by youth, for youth. The program is all about creating a culture of service and a country where young Canadians have access to meaningful service opportunities.

Canada Service Corps will be provided with $105 million up to March 2021, and will fund eligible projects that present opportunities for young Canadians to get in involved in service to communities.

During this design phase, Canada Service Corps will work with youth directly to build a Corps that reflects the goals, priorities, and values of young people today. Young Canadians between the ages of 15 to 30 years are encouraged to share their views on service and what it means to them, online here: canada.ca/canadaservicecorps.

Young Canadians aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow – they are leaders today. Giving them meaningful opportunities to serve their communities will empower them to learn, grow, and gain valuable skills and experiences they will carry with them throughout their lives.
