Creating an Economy that Works for Everyone
We want to build an economy that works for everyone.
So, we’re going to raise taxes on the wealthiest to help solve the housing crisis, create a national school food program for kids, advance new coverage for medicine, mental health, and dental care, and forgive student loans for teachers and health care workers that choose to work in small towns and rural communities like ours.
99.87% of Canadians will pay no new taxes.
The 0.13% of Canadians who will pay more earn an average of $1.4 Million every year, and will only pay more tax on investment income above $250,000 a year.
I think it is fair to ask wealthy Canadians to pay a similar rate of tax on their investments as workers do on their wages, so low-income and middle class Canadians get a fair shake.
