The Jitney Trail Bridge is Officially Reopened!

The Jitney Trail Bridge is officially reopened!

The bridge, locally known as the Gut Bridge, is a vital part of the trail system that ties Pictou to the larger regional and national networks, including the Trans Canada Trail, Nova Scotia’s Blue Route cycling network, and the International Appalachian Trail.

We partnered with the local municipalities as well as the Province to help fund the construction of the bridge with a contribution from the federal government of $220,000.

Looking forward to seeing the trail getting good use in the community in the months and years ahead!
