Planting Trees Across Nova Scotia!

Our forests are important. They serve as habitats for wildlife, help in the fight against climate change, and reduce the damage from severe weather events.

Both the 2023 wildfire season and Hurricane Fiona devastated our forests. These disasters displaced families and destroyed large forested areas.

In order to restore forest health in Nova Scotia and promote biodiversity, we are making a joint investment with the provincial government of $40 Million to plant 21 Million trees here at home.

This project will contribute to reforestation efforts, strengthen our tree-planting supply chain, restore biodiversity to areas affected by recent wildfires, and mitigate the risk of future events.

This program will help tackle climate change, give us cleaner air to breathe, and provide sustainable jobs in communities across Canada.

Let’s get planting!
