A New Ferry is Coming!

There’s a new ferry coming to keep Nova Scotia connected to PEI!

When the MV Holiday Island suffered irreparable damages from a fire onboard last year, the challenges for local businesses, visitors, and tourism operators on both sides of the Strait became readily apparent.

Today, we announced the purchase of the MV Fanafjord from Norway, which will replace the MV Holiday Island, and will be in the water in the Spring, assuring a two vessel ferry service next year!

Thanks to everyone who helped secure this replacement vessel, including my friend and colleague, Lawrence MacAulay who has been a steadfast advocate for the protection of this vital two vessel ferry service long before I joined him in Parliament.

After a few days of work on the Island, I’m happy to be headed home tonight - and I’ll be taking the ferry!
