We are expanding access to child care for 300 additional families in Northern Nova Scotia!

This is not just good social policy, it is important economic policy.

Since we advanced a national child care strategy, and reached an agreement with the provincial government, we have already cut the cost in half in Nova Scotia and it will decrease further to $10 per day.

We’ve also seen women’s participation in the workforce reach an all-time high, which is having an extraordinary positive impact on addressing the labour shortage.

Today’s news will see expanded access to child care in Pictou County, Antigonish, Truro, Pugwash, Tatamagouche, East Hants, and Guysborough.

This is great news for families and great news for our local economy!
