$29.9 million for StFX...
…and 600 new jobs.
On Friday, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, I was pleased to announce a historic $29.9 million for three exciting construction projects on the StFX campus. This includes constructing a Centre for Innovation in Health and the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government, while rehabilitating the existing Nicholson Tower.
This project will kickstart economic growth in our region in the short term and will help contribute to long term growth by supporting research on matters such as: Canada-US Trade, Environment and Climate Change policy, Women in Leadership, the Social Determinants of Health, Health Inequity, and other important areas.
This investment will also create 600 good paying jobs, not just in Antigonish, but across our region, during the construction phase.
