Investing in a National Pharmacare Program!

Nobody should go without access to the medicine they need. But, a lot of people don’t get the prescriptions they need because they don’t have coverage and can’t afford it.

We are going to change that.

We’re making a $1.5 Billion investment to launch a national pharmacare program, starting with coverage for diabetes medication and contraceptives, as we work towards making the program universal.

The cost of untreated or unmanaged diabetes is enormous both for the individual, and for the system, and women deserve to have the choice as to whether and when they want to start a family.

Thanks to the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union and AccessNow for joining us yesterday to share the news here in Nova Scotia!

This is an important step forward for Canada’s public health care system.

Let us know if you support it!
