Great News for the Eastern Shore!

Rural communities need more doctors and nurses!

We’ve changed the rules of the Student Loan Forgiveness program to make sure communities like Sheet Harbour, Middle Musquodoboit, and Musquodoboit Harbour benefit from programs designed for rural communities, even though they fall within the Halifax Regional Municipality.

With the new rules, nurses and nurse practitioners that work in rural areas will benefit from up to $30,000 in student loan forgiveness and doctors will see up to $60,000 of their loans forgiven.

This is great news for residents along the Eastern Shore and in the Musquodoboit Valley, but also for rural communities right across the country.
