More Funding for Public Transit
There’s more funding on the way for public transit in our small towns and rural communities!
We’ve supported public transit in small communities through organizations like MusGo Rider, Antigonish Community Transit, and Pictou County Transit, who are using federal investments to expand and improve services.
The recently announced $30 Billion Canada Public Transit Fund will include targeted funding for rural and remote transit to keep these communities connected by supporting public transit and active transportation projects, whether that is a local bus service, and bike path, or a walking trail in your community.
Investing in our transit systems helps seniors, our neighbours living with disabilities, low-income families, and our community more broadly. It also creates jobs, is good for the environment, and makes our communities more vibrant and dynamic places to call home.
Looking forward to seeing these investments support initiatives here at home and across the country in the months ahead.
