Helping Nova Scotians

I’ve always been proud to call Nova Scotia home, but that pride is even more apparent in times of emergency when I see how quickly we all come together to support one another.

I just left the Canada Games Centre, where the Canadian Red Cross is stationed to assist with emergency relief. I had the opportunity to chat with both volunteers, as well as those who have been displaced by the wildfires sweeping across areas of our province.

While the damage and pain felt by those who have lost homes or pets as well as those who still don’t know if their home is standing cannot be put into words, the level of support shown by all of you during times like these certainly eases the burden and uncertainty for everyone impacted.

Your efforts are making a real difference and will leave a lasting impact.

To all volunteers, and to everyone who is donating and helping – thank you.
