Acknowledging National Indigenous Peoples Day
On National Indigenous Peoples Day, please take some time to acknowledge the importance of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples to the social fabric of Canada.
We are fortunate in Nova Scotia to live on the traditional and unceded land of the Mi’kmaq people that have called our region home since time immemorial and that continue to make our communities more vibrant and dynamic places to live today.
Today provides an opportunity to better understand our colonial history and to commit ourselves to walking the path of reconciliation and to celebrating the many contributions of Indigenous communities to Canada’s history and future.
