Just like that, we’re back in Ottawa!

It was great being home for a few weeks, but I’m excited to get back to our nation’s capital where we will continue working to create jobs, invest in our healthcare system, protect our environment, and build an economy that works for all Canadians.

So far, we’ve:

Cut childcare fees by 50%, saving families thousands of dollars per child

Doubled the GST tax credit for 6 months

Embraced immigration as an economic growth strategy, while we continue welcome some of the world’s most vulnerable

Permanently waived interest on student loans while ensuring you don’t pay a cent until earning at least $40,000

Introduced the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant to help you and your family get off expensive home heating oil

Introduced a new, quarterly Canada Workers Benefit to put up to $2,400 in the pockets of working families

Created the Canada Dental Benefit for kids under 12 while we implement a universal program

Introduced a $500 top-up to the Canada Housing Benefit

Increased OAS by 10% for seniors 75 and up, and

Extended EI Sickness Benefits from 15 weeks to 26

As we enter a new year, we know people still need our support, and our team will keep working to advance policies that bring meaningful change.
