Pictou Landing First Nation hosts Beautiful Ceremony

Thank you to Pictou Landing First Nation for hosting a beautiful ceremony in advance of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

It was powerful to listen to the stories of the Indian Residential School survivors and their descendants in order to better understand the local and intergenerational impact these institutions had on Indigenous families and communities.

As I see more and more people join for these kinds of events, I have great hope that reconciliation will be an important part of our future here at home, not only for members of Pictou Landing First Nation, but for our community as a whole.

Thanks again for having me. I look forward to my next visit.

Wela’lioq!
