Twinned Highways Save Lives

This morning I had the chance to drive across a newly built section of Highway 104 for the first time with my friend and supporter Chief Joe MacDonald.

Joe has been an extraordinary advocate for the project from the very beginning because he’s seen the impact this dangerous stretch of road has had on families that have lost loved ones and on the first responders who are called to the scene when an accident occurs.

Helping secure a federal investment of $90 Million for the project is something I’m very proud to have been a part of.

Our funding announcement in 2017 was a special occasion, but it is so much more rewarding to see a new stretch of road open to traffic, with hundreds of people working on the ground to complete the project.

Thank you to everyone involved with the project, and Joe in particular, for your efforts.

This highway will make a big difference for our communities, and the people who travel through our region.
