Garden of Eden Community Centre receives Enabling Accessibility Grant

On May 18th, joined by Councillor Andy Thompson District 11, I was delighted to check out the progress the community centre is doing on making the centre more accessible. The work includes a new structure that will include accessible washrooms and make the main facility more accessible, including grading the parking lot, and retrofitting the existing kitchen facilities.

This work is thanks in part due to $46,593 through the federal Enabling Accessibility Fund.

The centre is a well-used community space, and I’m so pleased to see their hard work pay off in creating an enhanced place for all to access and enjoy.

While there, I loved seeing the old photographs, collected through their Canada 150 project where they received $3,000 through the Canada 150 fund. Here is a photo of an old baseball team with some of my buddies from elementary and high school!
